Air India Express has launched its first international commercial flight using a new Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft (VT-RNT). The inaugural service from New Delhi to Muscat highlights advanced passenger amenities and marks a significant step in Air India Express's fleet modernization under the Tata group. The airline is rapidly expanding its operations.

Fleet Modernization Milestone

Air India Express commenced its inaugural international commercial flight with its newly inducted Boeing 737-8 MAX, registration VT-RNT, flying from New Delhi to Muscat. This marks a significant step in the airline's fleet modernization under the Tata group.

The aircraft, delivered directly from Boeing's facility in Seattle, features enhancements consistent with the airline's new branding. These include ergonomically designed seats with ample legroom, fast-charging power outlets at each seat, larger overhead bins, and a quieter cabin environment enhanced by Boeing's Sky Interior lighting.

Enhanced Passenger Experience

Crew members onboard highlighted the aircraft's advanced features and improved passenger comfort. The customization by Air India Express includes new onboard ovens for meals and unique seat designs, aiming to elevate the travel experience.

This Boeing 737-8 marks the 51st such aircraft inducted since Air India Express transitioned to the Tata group. The airline now operates over 100 aircraft, positioning itself as the country's largest Boeing operator. Its expansion also includes recent inductions of Airbus A321neos, A320neos, and A320ceos. Air India Express is also retrofitting its existing Boeing 737-8 fleet with new seats to ensure consistency across its network, with 50 aircraft slated for upgrades.
