HDFC Life Insurance Posts Robust Growth
HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd. announced significant financial gains for the nine months ending December 31, 2025, with profit after tax (PAT) rising 7% to ₹1,414 crore. The company's Assets under Management (AUM) have now crossed the substantial ₹5.3 trillion mark, underscoring its expanding market presence and financial stability. This performance reflects a strategic focus on long-term protection and high-quality business expansion.
Premium Growth Accelerates
Individual Annualised Premium Equivalent (APE) saw a healthy 11% year-on-year increase, boosting HDFC Life's market share to 10.9%. The Value of New Business (VNB) grew by 7% to ₹2,773 crore, while maintaining strong new business margins of 24.4%. The protection segment was a key driver, with Retail Protection premiums surging 42% over the nine-month period, including an impressive 70% spike in the third quarter alone. This growth was further supported by a 33% rise in retail sum assured.
Financial Strength and Stability
The insurer maintained a robust Solvency Ratio of 180%, signaling strong capital adequacy. While reported PAT grew 7%, underlying profit growth reached a more substantial 15% when adjusted for one-time impacts from Goods and Services Tax (GST) and labour code changes. Persistency ratios remained stable, and renewal collections showed a significant 15% year-on-year improvement, indicating sustained customer engagement and trust. HDFC Life's market capitalization stands at ₹1.58 lakh crore, and the company has a history of consistent dividend payouts.
