Is port ko develop karne mein India ne lagbhag $120 million ka investment kiya hai. Ye sirf ek port nahi, balki India ke liye Central Asia aur Afghanistan tak pahunchne ka shortcut hai, woh bhi Pakistan ko bypass karke! Aur International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) ka bhi yeh ek main part hai, jis se India, Central Asia aur Russia ka trade improve hota hai.
Ownership Shift: Exit Ya Smart Move?
Abhi ye jo ownership transfer ki baat ho rahi hai, ise ekspert log exit nahi, balki ek strategic adjustment bol rahe hain. Matlab, India apni companies ko US sanctions se bachana chahta hai. India Ports Global Ltd (IPGL) apna stake India Ports Global Chabahar Free Zone (IPGCFZ) mein ek local Iranian company ko dega. Aur suno, India ek interim arrangement bhi soch raha hai jisme koi Iranian operator port manage karega, taki sanctions hatne par India wapas operational control le sake. Basically, yeh United States ke saath dosti aur Iran ke saath business ko balance karne ka game hai. Agar sidha involvement rakha toh Indian firms par penalty lag sakti thi.
