Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port ka jalwa: Cargo volume mein **4%** ka bada uchhal

H1 FY27 mein Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port ne **34.75 million tonnes** cargo handle karke apni growth dikhayi hai. Global challenges ke bawajood automation aur infrastructure upgrades ki wajah se ye growth possible hui hai.

Performance report kya kehti hai?

Kolkata Dock System aur Haldia Dock Complex ko milakar, Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port (SMP) ne first half of FY27 mein 34.75 million tonnes cargo handle kiya hai. Ye pichhle saal ke mukable 1.34 million tonnes zyada hai, yani seedhe 4% ki growth! Company ab apne 74 million tonnes ke annual target ki taraf tezi se badh rahi hai.

Challenges ke baad bhi kaise bhaga port?

Global maritime routes, khaaskar West Asia mein chal rahe tensions ke bawajood, port ne apni efficiency maintain rakhi hai. Iske peeche main reasons hain:

  • Public-Private Partnership: Terminals par naye operators se kaam asaan hua hai.
  • Automation: Cargo handling systems ko modernize kiya gaya hai.
  • Floating Cranes: Inki wajah se ab bade ships ko handle karna easy ho gaya hai.
  • Digital Push: 'One Port, One Process' initiative se paperwork ka time kaafi kam hua hai.

Future ka kya plan hai?

SMP ab bada soch raha hai. Hooghly River ke neeche twin tunnel banane ka proposal hai taaki port aur national highways direct connect ho sakein. Sath hi, IIT Madras ke saath milkar shipping channel ko aur gehra (capital dredging) karne ki feasibility par bhi kaam chal raha hai.

Haalaanki, itne bade infrastructure projects mein cost aur execution ke risks toh rehte hi hain, lekin agar ye smoothly complete hote hain, toh port ki capacity aur logistics flow kaafi improve ho jayega.
