Government ne FY27 ke liye Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways ka budget 48% badha kar ₹5,164.8 Crore kar diya hai. Pichhle saal yeh budget ₹3,470.6 Crore tha. Yeh paisa desh ke infrastructure ko boost karne aur logistics ko smooth banane mein use hoga.
Is budget ka sabse bada focus hai desh ke 20 naye National Waterways ko 5 saal mein operational karna, jismein Odisha ka NW-5 bhi shamil hai. Target hai ki inland aur coastal shipping ka share abhi ke 6% se badha kar 2047 tak 12% ho jaaye. Currently, yeh share sirf 2% ke aas paas hai aur FY25 mein 145.5 million tonnes cargo move hua hai IWT se. Matlab, abhi kaafi scope hai growth ka!
Iske saath hi, East mein Dankuni se West mein Surat tak naye Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFCs) bhi banenge taaki goods ki movement aur tez ho sake.
Ek interesting baat yeh hai ki India ka shipbuilding mein global market share bahut hi kam, sirf 0.06% hai, jabki China ~51-56% ke saath sabse aage hai. Government ka plan hai ki is sector ko bhi develop karein, although is budget mein direct shipbuilding support par zyada focus nahi hai.
Aur bhi bahut kuch hai! Skill development ke liye training institutes banenge, Varanasi aur Patna mein ship repair systems lagenge. Yahan tak ki indigenous seaplane manufacturing ko bhi incentives mil rahe hain taaki regional connectivity badhe.
