India ne SAF ke liye raasta saaf kar diya, par domestic targets pehle nahi!

Petroleum Ministry ne naye rules laaye hain jisse Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) mein SAF blend karna allowed hai. Yeh saans lega carbon emissions kam karne mein aur foreign oil par nirbharta ghatane mein. Lekin, Europe, US aur UK ki tarah India ne domestic flights ke liye koi strict mandatory blending percentage abhi nahi rakha hai. Sab kuch ICAO ke CORSIA framework ke hisab se chalega.

International timelines follow honge, domestic mein speed kam?

International flights ke liye, India CORSIA ke phased targets follow karega: 1% SAF by 2027, 2% by 2028, aur 5% by 2030. European Union 2% by 2025 aur 6% by 2030 ka target rakhe hue hai, toh USA bhi incentives de raha hai. India ki speed thodi slow lag rahi hai domestic level par.

SAF ka sabse bada panga: Cost aur Infrastructure

SAF abhi bhi bahut mehenga hai, conventional jet fuel se 2 se 5 guna zyada. Iski wajah hai feedstock processing aur production mein complexities. India mein SAF banane ki capacity abhi develop ho rahi hai aur isko badhane ke liye kaafi investment chahiye. Feedstock ki reliable sourcing aur specialized production requirements bhi bade hurdles hain.

Domestic airlines ke liye kya matlab?

Domestic mandates delay hone se Indian airlines ke liye SAF ka adoption dheere dheere hoga. Agar government ne proper support aur incentives nahi diye, toh future mein fuel costs badh sakte hain. Yeh policy ek step toh hai, par bina domestic targets ke, India ka aviation sector emission reduction mein global peers se piche reh sakta hai. Production aur supply chain develop karne mein time lagega, jisse airlines ko volatile global prices se bachne mein mushkil ho sakti hai.

Aage kya hoga?

Government chahti hai ki India bhi SAF transition ka hissa bane, par domestic targets postpone karke ek patient approach dikhaya hai. Iska success tabhi hoga jab government domestic SAF production ko badhane mein help kare, airlines ko higher costs manage karne mein sahara de, aur sustainable fuel use ke liye clear goals set kare. Varna yeh sirf ek procedural update bankar reh jayega.
