Is loss ke peeche kai reasons hain. Sabse pehle toh fuel prices, khaas kar Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices, ek saal mein 18.2% tak badh gaye hain. West Asia mein chal rahi tensions ne isko aur badha diya hai.
Iske alawa, global conflicts ki wajah se kai countries ne airspace band kar diya hai. Isse Air India jaisi airlines ko Europe aur North America jaane ke liye lambe routes lene pad rahe hain. Yeh lambe routes matlab zyada fuel kharch, zyada crew overtime, aur overall operating costs mein heavy increase.
Financial struggles ke saath saath, operational issues bhi hain. June 2025 mein Ahmedabad mein hue fatal crash ke baad regulators ne crew fatigue aur training par warnings di hain. Yeh sab factors milkar airline ke liye kaam karna aur profit kamana bahut mushkil bana rahe hain.
Halaanki Tata Group Air India ko revive karne ke liye committed hai aur fleet upgrade par invest kar raha hai, lekin current losses aur bahari pressures ki wajah se break-even ka goal, jo pehle 5 saal mein set tha, woh ab bahut door lag raha hai. Naye CEO ke saamne yeh sabse bada challenge hoga ki woh is volatile market mein profit ka rasta kaise nikalenge.
