Union Ki Demand: Sab WFH Karen!
Basically, NITES (Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate) naam ka ek IT employees union hai, woh chahta hai ki agar IT ya IT-enabled services mein ghar se kaam karna possible hai toh Labour Ministry ko mandatory WFH recommend karna chahiye. Yeh sab PM Narendra Modi ke fuel save karne aur austerity (kam kharcha) karne ke call ke baad ho raha hai. Union ka kehna hai ki WFH se fuel bachega, traffic kam hoga, foreign exchange bhi save hoga aur employees ki safety bhi badhegi.
Companies Ka Plan: Office Lao Sabko!
Par companies ka scene bilkul alag hai. Wipro ne toh already bola hai ki employees ko haftay mein at least 3 din office aana padega. Infosys bhi mahine mein 10 din office mandatory kar raha hai. Yahaan tak ki TCS, jo pehle 25/25 model ki baat kar raha tha (25% log 25% time remote kaam karenge), ab office attendance ko bonuses aur promotions se jod raha hai. Wipro ke Chairman Rishad Premji bhi keh chuke hain ki teamwork aur company culture ke liye office aana zaroori hai.
Industry body Nasscom ka kehna hai ki companies hybrid models use kar rahi hain aur sirf tabhi remote work allow karti hain jab "operationally appropriate" ho. Woh kisi bhi mandatory WFH rule ke khilaaf hain.
Economy Aur Oil Ka Factor
PM Modi ka austerity call isliye bhi important hai kyunki India apna 88% se zyada oil import karta hai. Agar global oil prices badhein, toh India ki GDP growth 2.5% tak kam ho sakti hai aur current account deficit badh jayega. West Asia mein chal rahe conflict ki wajah se oil prices already kaafi high hain.
IT Sector Ka Future
Waise bhi, IT sector ki growth FY27 tak slow ho kar sirf 2-3% rehne ki ummeed hai, kyunki global geopolitics aur AI ka impact padega. Lekin agar Rupee weak hota hai toh higher oil prices se IT companies ko fayda bhi ho sakta hai kyunki unka revenue dollar mein aata hai.
Risk Kya Hai?
Agar union ki WFH waali demand maani gayi, toh companies jo office ke liye paisa laga rahi hain unko problem hogi. Aur yeh baat bhi hai ki bohot se experts maante hain ki hybrid model hi future hai. Agar forced WFH hua toh companies ke operations mein gadbad ho sakti hai. AI bhi ek taraf opportunity hai toh doosri taraf disruption ka risk bhi hai.
