Court Ne WFI Ki Vinesh Phogat Ki Olympic Disqualification Par Dhwajiyan Uda Di
Delhi High Court ne Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) ko Vinesh Phogat ke mamle ko handle karne ke tareeke par sakht bhasha mein criticise kiya hai. Court ko Vinesh ko bheje gaye show-cause notice par aitraaz hai, jismein unki Paris Olympics mein overweight hone ki wajah se hui disqualification ko 'national shame' bataya gaya tha. Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya ki bench ne WFI se poocha ki kya kisi athlete ko blame karna sports managers ki wajah se wrestling ke liye sahi hai. Court ne yeh bhi note kiya ki public Vinesh ki disqualification ko national disgrace nahi maanti.
Asian Games Trial Policy Changes Par Bhi Uthe Sawal
WFI ki February 2026 mein aayi Asian Games trials ke liye revised selection policy par bhi sawaal uthaye gaye. Yeh naya policy sirf recent events ke medal winners ko allow karta hai, jo ki purani policy se bilkul alag hai jisme zyada flexibility thi. Vinesh ke legal team ne argue kiya ki yeh naya rule unke maternity leave aur recovery ke saath coincide karta hai, jisse unka return mushkil ho sakta hai. Court ne poocha ki kya yeh policy change khaas Vinesh ko target karne ke liye tha, especially jab society mein motherhood ko itna importance diya jaata hai.

High Court ne Central Government se bhi WFI ke actions par clarification manga hai. Court ne Department of Sports se notice aur WFI officials ke khilaaf uthaye gaye kadamon ke baare mein poocha. Union of India ke lawyer ne notice ki wording ko dekh kar surprise jataya. Court ne suggest kiya ki WFI aur government ek expert committee banaye jo Vinesh ka evaluation kare aur unhein Asian Games trials mein participate karne mein help kare. Sports Ministry ne kaha ki woh Vinesh ko compete karne se nahi rokenge aur exemption options explore karenge. Ministry ne trials ke liye ek observer assign karne aur video recording sunishchit karne ka bhi wada kiya. WFI ki hearing May 25 ko hai, aur Vinesh ko interim exemption maangne ki salah di gayi hai.
Sports Administration Ka Bada Sandarbh
WFI ke actions sports federations mein athletes aur changing selection policies ke beech common tensions ko highlight karte hain, khaas kar jab athlete break se wapas aate hain. Duniya bhar mein athletes ne time off ke baad similar eligibility hurdles face kiye hain. Agar WFI ke Vinesh ke khilaaf punitive measures sach mein politically motivated hain, toh yeh sports bodies mein administrative issues ko dikha sakta hai. Kai international sports federations ne maternity leave se wapas aane wale athletes ko support karne ke liye clearer policies adopt ki hain, jismein penalties ki jagah assistance par focus kiya jaata hai. WFI ke strict criteria, jo bachche ke janm ke karan miss huye events ke athletes ko exclude kar sakte hain, kahin aur dekhe jaane wale supportive pathways se alag hain. Yeh legal challenge aur judicial intervention WFI mein policy reforms ko encourage kar sakta hai jisse international standards ke saath alignment ho sake, fairness aur athlete well-being ko badhava mile.
