India mein sustainability reporting ab sirf formality nahi rahi. Investors ab data ki reliability check kar rahe hain kyunki NIFTY 100 ki lagbhag **50%** companies apne purane figures ko revise kar rahi hain.
Data ki reliability par kyun hai shaq?
India ke top 1,000 listed companies ke liye ab ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) disclosure mandatory hai. Lekin problem ye hai ki data ki quality aur comparability abhi bhi ek bada concern hai. KPMG ki recent report ke hisaab se, 94 mein se 45 NIFTY 100 companies ne apne pichle saal ke reports mein badlav (revisions) kiye hain. Jab companies apne purane figures change karti hain, toh analysts ke liye companies ko compare karna mushkil ho jata hai.
SEBI ka action plan
Is data friction ko khatam karne ke liye, SEBI ab 'BRSR Core' la raha hai. Iska matlab hai ki ab ESG indicators ki third-party assurance zaroori hogi. Ye rule dhire-dhire 2026-27 tak top 1,000 companies par apply ho jayega. Isse 'Greenwashing' (sirf marketing ke liye green dikhna) par rok lagegi aur data zyada reliable banega.
Investors ke liye kya hai risk?
Investors sirf emission numbers nahi dekhna chahte, wo ye dekhna chahte hain ki sustainability investments se company ke Profit Margins par kya asar padega. Regulatory risk bhi badh raha hai; agar koi company galat data report karti hai, toh SEBI fine laga sakta hai ya trading suspension jaisi sakht karwai bhi ho sakti hai. Agle kuch quarters mein third-party assurance ki quality hi decide karegi ki kaun si company sach mein long-term mein strong hai.
