So, sarkar ne iss sector ko revive karne ka plan bana liya hai. National Policy on Geothermal Energy 2025 aa gayi hai, jo pura detail mein batati hai ki kaise exploration ko encourage karna hai, local tech develop karni hai aur investors ko lana hai. Plus, 100% FDI bhi allow hai automatic route se, tax holidays aur cost gap bharne mein support bhi milega.
Sirf policy hi nahi, technology bhi ekdum next level ho gayi hai. Ab oil aur gas sector jaisi advanced drilling tech use hogi, jisse zameen ke andar ki heat ko better tarike se access kar payenge. Isse pehle jo areas difficult maane jaate the, wahan bhi kaam ho payega. Policy mein toh abandoned oil aur gas wells ko use karne ka bhi plan hai.
Bhai, India ke neeche jo resources hain na, woh kamaal ke hain. Electricity ke liye 450 GW ka potential hai, jo duniya ki current geothermal capacity se kaafi zyada hai. Aur toh aur, industrial heat ke liye 11,000 GW aur cooling ke liye 1,500 GW tak ka potential hai! Yeh solar aur wind se alag hai kyunki yeh consistently power de sakta hai, 80% se zyada utilization rate ke saath, jahan solar/wind ka 15-25% rehta hai. Energy security ke liye yeh bahut important hai.
Lekin haan, sab kuch itna easy bhi nahi hai. Exploration mein pehle bahut paisa lagta hai aur risk bhi hai, sirf 1 in 5 wells profit deta hai. Installation cost bhi wind aur solar se zyada hai. Aur Puga Valley jaisi jagahon par jo pehle issues hue the, unka dhyan rakhna hoga. Solar aur wind ki badhti popularity aur kam hote costs se bhi competition hai.
Par agar yeh policy properly implement ho gayi na, toh kamaal ho jayega. 350,000 se 700,000 jobs tak create ho sakte hain. Agriculture sector ko bhi bahut fayda hoga. India ka geothermal market USD 405.17 million (2024) se badhkar USD 860.11 million (2035) tak pahunch sakta hai, matlab 7.08% CAGR. Yeh sab India ke Net Zero 2070 target ko achieve karne mein bhi help karega.
