Isse pehle ki market mein koi tension banta, RBI ne saaf kar diya ki wo countercyclical capital buffer ko increase nahi karenge. Iska seedha matlab hai ki banks abhi aur bhi zyada loans de sakte hain. RBI ko lagta hai ki current loan growth koi khatra nahi hai, balki economy ke liye achha hai. Is decision se banks ko apni lending capacity maintain karne mein help milegi.

Economy ko mil raha hai boost!

Waise bhi, India mein loan growth toh pehle se hi toofani chal rahi hai. March 2026 tak non-food bank credit 15.9% se badhi hai. Industries mein 15.0%, services mein 19.0%, aur personal loans bhi around 16.6% ki speed se grow kar rahe hain. Jabki credit-to-deposit ratio bhi 82.01% ke aas paas hai April 2026 mein, jo dikhata hai ki banks poori tarah economy ko fund kar rahe hain. RBI ka yeh step is growth ko aur support karega, kyunki unhe lagta hai ki economy abhi overheating nahi ho rahi hai.

Banking Sector ekdum fit hai!

Indian banking sector ki health bhi ekdum top notch hai. NPA (Non-Performing Assets) ratio decades mein sabse low, around 2.2% par hai. Capital Adequacy Ratio (CRAR) bhi strong hai, 16.7% tak pahunch gaya hai Q1 FY25 mein, jo rules se kaafi upar hai. Credit-to-GDP gap bhi pehle se kaafi sudhar gaya hai, jo batata hai ki loan growth ab economic fundamentals ke saath match ho rahi hai. Duniya bhar mein bhi dekha jaye toh US Fed aur Europe ke kai banks ne apne buffer rates zero hi rakhe hain.

Par thoda risk toh hai

Lekin haan, yeh decision bina risk ke nahi hai. Agar loan growth aise hi tez rahi aur koi safeguard nahi hua, toh future mein loan quality mein issues aa sakte hain. Naye regulations jaise ECL aur RWA bhi banks ke liye changes laa rahe hain, jismein HDFC Bank aur ICICI Bank jaise bade banks chhote banks se behtar position mein hain. Waise bhi, India mein yeh capital buffer tool 2014 se hai par kabhi use nahi hua.

Aage kya?

Analysts bol rahe hain ki FY27 mein loan growth thodi slow ho sakti hai FY26 ke comparison mein. RBI ka yeh decision permanent nahi hai; agar future mein zarurat lagi toh wo buffer activate kar sakte hain. RBI har cheez pe nazar rakhe hue hai.
