Sun TV Network ne March mein khatam hue quarter mein Rs 232 crore ka consolidated net profit report kiya hai. Ye pichle saal ke Rs 370.8 crore se 37.4% kam hai. Operations se revenue bhi 6.3% gir kar Rs 882.5 crore ho gaya. EBITDA bhi 8.9% ghat kar Rs 390.7 crore raha, aur EBITDA margin 44.3% se 45.5% ho gaya. Iske alawa, mutual fund investments par mark-to-market adjustments aur ek radio entity mein impairment charge ne bhi results ko affect kiya hai.
Ad Revenue Ki Pareshani Aur Sector Shifts
Analysts ka kehna hai ki ad revenue mein 10% ki year-on-year girawat Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies dwara linear television par kam kharch karne ki wajah se hui hai. Ye ek bada industry shift dikha raha hai jahan digital advertising aur online video tezi se badh rahe hain, jo television ke traditional dominance ko challenge kar rahe hain. Motilal Oswal ko lagta hai ki ad revenue muted hi rahegi, FY27E mein 5% ki kami aur FY26-29E ke beech flat growth ka anuman hai. Domestic subscription revenue FY26 mein 9.5% badha tha, lekin ab ye bhi thoda dheema ho sakta hai.
Ad Revenue Mein Structural Giravat Aur Valuation Concerns
Ad revenue mein lagatar giravat ek structural change ka signal de rahi hai, jahan linear TV ko digital alternatives se zyada competition mil raha hai. South India mein Sun TV ki position acchi hone ke bawajood, pichle paanch saalon mein overall sales growth modest rahi hai. Sports franchises jaise IPL teams ke valuation ko lekar bhi chinta hai, jo media rights ke renewal par pressure mein aa sakte hain. Pichhle samay mein promoter Kalanithi Maran se judi ek family dispute ki bhi reports aayi thi, jise company ne refute kiya hai.
Future Outlook
Indian media aur entertainment sector 2028 tak Rs 3.3 lakh crore tak pahunchne ki ummeed hai. Halanki, Sun TV ko lekar analysts ka outlook generally positive hai, jahan 11 analysts ne 'Buy' rating di hai aur average 12-month price target Rs 677.73 hai. CLSA ne haal hi mein Sun TV Networks ko 'Outperform' rating di hai. Movie revenue mein 'Jailer 2' ki release se boost milne ki ummeed hai, aur company legacy content ko monetize karne par focus kar rahi hai.
