India IT Rules Update: Creators ki news ab government ki nazar mein? Industry mein chinta
Overview

Arre bhai log, ek naya update suno! India government ne IT Rules mein changes karne ka proposal diya hai, jiske hisaab se ab creators aur aam janta ka 'news and current affairs' content bhi regulatory oversight mein aa jayega. Industry ke experts keh rahe hain ki ye self-censorship badha sakta hai aur creator economy par bhi asar daal sakta hai.

Kya hai ye naya plan?

Government ne IT Rules ke Part III ko expand karne ka socha hai. Pehle ye sirf registered news publishers ke liye tha, par ab jo bhi 'news and current affairs' share kar raha hai - whether woh YouTuber ho, Instagram influencer ho, ya koi bhi normal citizen - woh ab iske andar aa sakta hai. Iska matlab hai ki platforms ko creators ke content ke liye zyada responsible hona padega, aur creators ko bhi guidelines follow karni hongi.

Kaisi hogi enforcement?

Agar platforms ko Section 79 ke tahat "safe harbour" protection chahiye, toh unhe Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) ki advisories follow karni padengi. Aur Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) ko bhi powers milengi ki woh content blocking ki recommendations de sakte hain, ya creators ko maafi maangne ya content change karne ko bol sakte hain.

Creator Economy aur Market ka kya?

India ka digital advertising market tezi se badh raha hai, jo 2030 tak $22 billion tak pahunch sakta hai, 10-15% CAGR se. Aur creator economy toh aur bhi badi ho rahi hai, abhi $20-25 billion se $100-125 billion tak jaane ka estimate hai 2030 tak. Par ye naye rules investment ko hesitate karwa sakte hain. Waise bhi, India ka Nifty IT index already 25% down chal raha hai is saal (2026). Nifty IT ka valuation abhi lagbhag ₹26.13 trillion hai, P/E ratio around 22.4 hai, jo sectors mein chal rahi uncertainty dikhata hai.

Sabse Badi Chinta: Self-Censorship

Experts ko sabse zyada dar is baat ka hai ki creators criticize karne ya satire karne se dar jayenge. Agar koi content government ko pasand nahi aaya, toh uske block hone ka khatra hai. Jaise comedian Pulkit Mani ka ek satirical reel March 18, 2026 ko block hua tha. Government ka ye trend pehle bhi dekha gaya hai, jaise ek bill withdraw hua tha. Is tarah ki restrictions se creativity aur expression par rok lag sakti hai.

Aage kya?

Ye proposed IT rule amendments ab public comments ke liye khule hain April 29, 2026 tak. Creator economy ka future iss baat par depend karta hai ki government kaisa balance banati hai oversight aur freedom of expression ke beech.
