Aise samjho, India mein logon ke paas paisa aa raha hai, aur woh fancy cheezein khareedna chahte hain. Is liye luxury market ko 2028 tak $12 billion tak pahunchne ka target hai. Par scene yeh hai ki yeh luxury brands, jaise Prada aur Chanel, jab India aate hain toh unhe quality retail space nahi milti. Yeh sirf dukaan nahi, balki ek 'experience' wala space chahiye hota hai, jo filhaal bohot kam hai.

Market toh saal 2025 mein 15-20% grow hone ki ummeed hai. Aur kya pata, 2027 tak India mein 1.5 million dollar millionaire ho jayenge, jo 2022 se 58% zyada hai! Rich log toh badh rahe hain, par unhe khareedne ke liye sufficient high-quality shops nahi hain. Delhi aur Mumbai mein hi kuch 600,000 sq ft space hai, aur woh bhi kam pad raha hai.

Developers bhi koshish kar rahe hain, jaise Bharti Real Estate Worldmark mein ek luxury section bana raha hai 2027 tak, aur Prestige Group 2028-2029 tak 8 million sq ft mall space la raha hai. Lekin yeh sabhi demand ko match karne ke liye kaafi nahi hai.

China se compare karo toh wahan luxury retail space bohot hai, is liye wahan Prada aur Chanel jaise brands ke hundreds of stores hain. India mein woh few stores hi khol paate hain kyuki space hi nahi hai.

Ek aur problem yeh hai ki jo space available hai, woh in brands ki requirements jaise store frontage, layout ya mix of stores ko poora nahi karta. Bulgari ke CEO ne bhi kaha tha ki India ko 10-15 luxury malls chahiye, tab jaake woh global markets se compete kar payega. Jo malls hain bhi, woh 95% se zyada full hain. Yeh sab ek bada hurdle hai.

Future mein growth tabhi hogi jab aise dedicated luxury spaces banenge jo global standards ko meet karein aur logon ko 'experience' de sakein. Yeh sirf shopping nahi, entertainment aur dining ka bhi combo hona chahiye.
