Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra aur US Energy Secretary Chris Wright ki ek high-level meeting hui, jisme dono countries ne milkar energy sector mein aur collaboration karne ka faisla kiya hai. Goal ye hai ki energy dialogue ko aur mazboot kiya jaaye.
Is meeting mein civil nuclear energy, coal gasification projects, aur US se LNG exports ko badhane par khaas focus raha. Yeh sab efforts India ki energy needs ko poora karne aur supply ko secure rakhne ke liye hain.
India ne US se energy imports ko kaafi badha diya hai. FY25 mein, India ne US se total 20 million tonnes coal import kiya, jisme se 40% sirf coking coal tha. Is deal ke baad India, US coal ka sabse bada global buyer ban gaya hai.
Partnership ko aur cement karne ke liye, GAIL (India) Limited ne April 20 ko 'Energy Fidelity' naam ka LNG vessel bheja hai. Ye vessel Sabine Pass LNG Terminal se nikla aur GAIL ke long-term plans ka ek hissa hai jisse cleaner fuel supply pakki hogi.
