Asal mein, India mein motor insurance bechne wale agents aur brokers ka 80% tak ka income pehle saal ke commission se aata hai. Yeh problem sirf ek channel tak seemit nahi hai. Car dealerships insurance ko package deal mein istemal karte hain ya phir apne partners se insurance kharidne ko bolte hain. Online comparison sites bhi kabhi kabhi add-ons pehle se select karke rakhti hain. Agents aur brokers ka bada network toh hai hi, par direct insurer marketing aur OEMs ka dealers par influence bhi is problem ko aur badhata hai.
IRDAI Ki Koshishein Aur Future
Ab IRDAI is problem ko theek karne ki koshish kar raha hai. Naye "Sabka Bima Sabki Raksha Bill, 2025" ke through regulator ko commissions par limit lagane aur unke payment ka tarika decide karne ke naye powers mile hain. Goal yeh hai ki conflicts of interest kam ho aur log zyada clear tareeke se insurance kharidein. Halanki, motor insurance complaints ka share thoda kam hua hai (24.8% FY24-25 mein), par "unfair business practices" ki complaints ka badhna dikhata hai ki change mein time lagega.
Agar sirf commission par focus raha to long-term customer satisfaction piche reh jayega, aur policies jaldi cancel hone ka risk badh jayega. Isse industry ki reputation bhi kharab hoti hai. Aage chal kar market $59 billion tak ja sakta hai 2034 tak, lekin yeh tabhi hoga jab regulations commissions aur customer needs ke beech balance bana payenge.
