Tata Steel Ludhiana EAF: India ka Steel Industry Mein 'Green' Revolution Ka Shuruwat?
Overview

Tata Steel ne apna Rs **3,200 Crore** wala scrap-based Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) Ludhiana mein chalu kar diya hai! Ye company ke **'Net Zero 2045'** target ki taraf ek bada kadam hai, jisse steel production mein CO2 emissions **bahut kam** ho jayenge.

Ye facility saal mein 7.5 lakh tonnes steel bana sakti hai aur har tonne steel ke liye CO2 emissions ko 0.3 tonnes se bhi neeche layega, jo company ke average 2.2 tonnes se bahut hi kam hai. Special baat ye hai ki is plant mein 100% steel scrap use hoga aur nearly 50% power renewable energy se aayega. Yeh sab Tata Tiscon brand ke rebars banane ke liye hoga, jo construction sector ko support karenge.

Is move ka main motive Tata Steel ka apne 'Net Zero 2045' goal ko achieve karna hai aur global competitiveness maintain karna hai. MD TV Narendran ne kaha ki ₹3,200 Crore ka ye investment sustainability par company ke focus ko dikhata hai. Chairman N Chandrasekaran ne bhi isko Tata Group ke greener future vision se connect kiya hai.

Indian construction market bhi tezi se badh raha hai, toh Tata Tiscon rebars ki demand bhi achhi expect ki ja rahi hai. Waise toh JSW Steel aur SAIL jaise competitors bhi EAF technology mein invest kar rahe hain aur green steel par focus kar rahe hain. Government policies bhi is 'green steel' ko support kar rahi hain.

Par kuch challenges bhi hain. 100% scrap use karne ke liye scrap ka stable supply hona zaroori hai aur prices bhi manageable hone chahiye. Renewable energy prices mein volatility bhi risk hai. Company ka overall carbon footprint, UK aur Netherlands operations ko milakar, abhi bhi ek bada challenge hai. Aur haan, company ka P/E ratio abhi 25-36 ke beech hai, jo historical average se zyada hai, matlab investors future growth se bahut zyada expect kar rahe hain. Tata Steel ka ESG risk rating bhi 'Medium' hai, jisme GHG emissions reduction par aur kaam karna hai.

Overall, ye Ludhiana EAF Tata Steel ka ek smart move hai future ke liye, jo global green trends aur India ke Net Zero goals se match karta hai. Kuch analysts ne 'BUY' ratings bhi di hain, par price targets current market se kam hain. Dekhte hain ye 'green steel' wala game Tata Steel kaise khelti hai!
