Assam government ne seedha order de diya hai ki unke limestone mining blocks, jo lagbhag 430 hectares aur 200 hectares mein hain, state ko wapas milenge fresh auction ke liye. Is direct order ke chalte, Assam Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (AMDCL), jo state ki ek undertaking hai, ne JK Lakshmi Cement ke saath 28 November 2025 ko sign kiya Mine Developer & Operator (MDO) Agreement terminate kar diya hai. Company ko ye termination notice 6 February 2026 ko mila hai. Asal mein, ye agreement cement plant aur uske liye limestone mines develop karne ke liye tha.
Is cancellation se JK Lakshmi Cement ke planned greenfield cement project mein der hone ki poori poori umeed hai. Company ko lagta hai ki project ka timeline ab uncertain ho gaya hai. Achhi baat yeh hai ki AMDCL ne saaf kiya hai ki company par koi penalty ya sanction nahi lagega, sirf government directive ki wajah se ye deal cancel hui hai.
Ab JK Lakshmi Cement ka agla kadam kya hoga? Company ne announce kiya hai ki woh is decision ko challenge karenge, dekhte hain kahan tak safal hote hain. Investors ko abhi se is case par nazar rakhni chahiye aur dekhega ki Assam government kab tak naya auction process start karti hai. Agar project mein zyada der hui toh company ke Northeast region mein expansion plans par effect pad sakta hai.
