India Food Processing Sector: Govt ne lagaya ₹9,200 Cr ka Paisa, Capacity mein zabardast jump!
Overview

Yaar, India ke food processing sector mein ekdum kamaal ho gaya hai! Sarkaar ki Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme ke under **168** approved companies ne **₹9,207 Crore** ka massive investment kiya hai. Isse desh bhar mein processing aur preservation ki capacity **35 lakh metric tonnes** tak badh gayi hai.

PLI Scheme ne kiya kamaal!

Sarkaar ne yeh scheme, jiska full name hai Production-Linked Incentive Scheme for Food Processing Industries (PLISFPI), chalaayi thi leading Indian food manufacturers ko support karne ke liye. Ab tak ismein ₹2,714.79 Crore incentive ke taur par distribute bhi ho chuke hain. Aur mazedaar baat yeh hai ki, approved companies mein se 69 toh Micro, Small, aur Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) hain, saath hi cooperative entities aur organic food products wale bhi shamil hain. Scheme ka goal hai Indian brands ko globally promote karna, off-farm employment badhana, aur farmers ko fair price dilana.

PMKSY se infra bhi bana mazboot

Sirf PLI hi nahi, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) ne bhi food processing industry ke liye zaroori infrastructure khada kiya hai. January 2026 tak, 41 Mega Food Parks aur 401 Cold Chain projects approve ho chuke hain, jismein se 25 Mega Food Parks aur 302 Cold Chain facilities toh abhi operational bhi hain. Yeh sab milakar Indian food processing sector FY26 tak $535 billion tak pahunchne ka estimate hai, jo 2023 ke $336.4 billion se kaafi bada hai.

Abhi bhi kuch gap hain

Itna sab hone ke baad bhi, potential poora use karne ke liye farmers ki income badhana ek bada goal hai. Fruits aur vegetables ke liye toh India mein processing rates abhi bhi global level se kam hain. Isse waste kam karne aur value badhane ka mauka hai. Waise, exports toh kaafi badh rahe hain, FY25 mein $49 billion cross kar gaye. Processed food exports bhi 15% growth dikha rahe hain. Par global food trade mein India ka share abhi bhi 1.5% ke aas paas hi hai, matlab abhi aur mehnat karni padegi.

Infrastructure aur scheme uptake mein challenges

Kuch companies ko PLI scheme mein subsidy lene mein issues aa rahe hain kyunki woh investment targets poore nahi kar pa rahe. Iska matlab hai ki sabhi ko iska fayda milna mushkil ho raha hai. Farmers ko fair price aur zyada income mile, yeh bhi ek focus area hai. Bade players jaise ITC, Britannia, aur Nestle toh apne network se fayda utha rahe hain, par chhote players aur cooperatives ko support karna abhi bhi ek challenge hai.

Aage ka outlook

Experts ka kehna hai ki Indian food processing sector 2032 tak $735.5 billion tak pahunch sakta hai. Urbanization, badhti incomes, aur export market isse aur boost denge. Organic foods aur plant-based diets ki demand, plus AI jaise new technologies bhi game changer ban sakte hain.
