Maharashtra FDA ne saaf bol diya hai ki ab hospitals patients ko apni pharmacy se hi dawai khareedne ke liye force nahi kar sakte. Ab log chahe jaha se bhi apni dawai le sakte hain. Isse bade hospital chains ke liye ek problem aa sakti hai, kyunki pharmacy se achi khasi kamai ho jaati thi.

Hua kya?

Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ne ek naya rule nikala hai jisse hospitals mein dawai lene ka tareeka badlega. 12 June 2026 ke order mein, FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe ne bola hai ki hospitals, doctors, aur clinics patients ya unke relatives ko prescription seedha de. Ab woh patients ko hospital ke andar wale pharmacy se hi dawai lene ke liye force nahi kar sakte.

Is rule ko follow karwane ke liye, FDA ne bola hai ki hospitals ko bade-bade notice lagane honge, Marathi aur English dono mein. Is notice mein clear likha hoga ki patients ko apni marzi ki kisi bhi licensed pharmacy se dawai khareedne ka pura haq hai, sirf hospital wali se nahi. Yeh kadam Consumer Protection Act, 2019 ke under liya gaya hai taaki un trade practices ko roka ja sake jo patient ki choice ko limit karti hain.

Investors ke liye ye kyun important hai?

India mein kai bade hospital chains ek integrated healthcare system ki tarah kaam karte hain. Unki kamai sirf doctor fees ya beds se nahi aati. Unki non-medical kamai ka ek bada hissa unke andar chalne wale pharmacies, diagnostics, aur dusri health services se aata hai. Jab hospitals patients ko apni pharmacy se dawai lene ke liye force nahi kar payenge, toh hospital operators ki revenue mix par asar pad sakta hai.

Investors ko ab hospital chains ki financial reports mein 'pharmacy aur diagnostics' wale segment par dhyan dena chahiye. Agar hospital wale pharmacies se hone wali kamai kam ho gayi, toh unke operating margins par pressure aa sakta hai. Yeh un hospital chains ke liye zyada relevant hai jinhone apne premises mein bade-bade pharmacy networks banaye hain.

Investors ise kaise dekhe?

Market mein log aksar hospital stocks ko Average Revenue Per Occupied Bed (ARPOB) aur non-medical services se hone wale profit ke hisaab se judge karte hain. Agar hospital ki pharmacies mein bikri kam hui, toh unka profit margin kam ho sakta hai. Yeh Maharashtra FDA ka move ek example set kar sakta hai dusre states ke liye bhi. Agar desh bhar ke regulators bhi aise hi rules laaye, toh bade hospital groups ki national pharmacy strategy par impact pad sakta hai.

Risks aur concerns?

Revenue impact ke alawa, yeh rule hospitals ke liye ek compliance challenge bhi hai. Unko apne internal processes aur staff ke behaviour ko naye rule ke according set karna hoga. Agar woh fail hue toh unpar regulatory action ho sakta hai. Plus, healthcare sector pehle se hi operational costs badhne aur infrastructure upgrade ke challenges face kar raha hai. Is tarah ke regulatory changes se profit margins kam hone ka risk investors manage karte hain.
