Yaar, ye medical gloves wala scene bada hi serious ho gaya hai. Apne India ke glove makers jo hain na, woh log badi mushkil mein hain kyuki bahar se itne cheap aur quality ke naam pe bekar gloves aa rahe hain market mein. Yeh unfair competition local companies ko andar se khokhla kar raha hai, jo pehle se hi pandemic ke baad overcapacity se lad rahe hain. Aur sabse badi tension patient safety ki hai.

Apne yahan ke makers kaafi loss mein chal rahe hain. Jo imports aa rahe hain na, unmein BIS jaise zaroori certifications nahi hote aur woh basic quality tests bhi paas nahi karte. Socho, jahan normal gloves ke liye AQL 1.5 ya usse kam hona chahiye, ye toh usse bhi bahut worse hain. Kuch toh ₹1 mein bhi bik rahe hain! Isse local companies jo rules follow karti hain, unhe apne rates kam karne pad rahe hain. Aur sirf paisa hi nahi, ye bina quality wale gloves infections faila sakte hain, allergies kar sakte hain ya pressure mein phat sakte hain, matlab patient ki health ke liye ek hidden danger hai.

Abhi pura scene ka game changer hai ek Quality Control Order (QCO) jiske aane mein bahut deri ho rahi hai. Medical aur surgical gloves ke liye draft QCO 2024 mein aaya tha, jismein BIS certification aur ISI mark ki baat thi, bilkul international rules jaise ISO aur ASTM ke tarah. Yeh QCO February 2025 mein WTO ko bhi bheja gaya tha, par abhi tak final approval nahi mila. Is regulatory gap ka fayda utha kar log aise gloves stock kar rahe hain ya repackage kar rahe hain jo medical use ke liye banne hi nahi chahiye. Yeh gloves aksar Malaysia aur Thailand jaise countries se aate hain. Western countries toh chlorinated gloves ban karti hain, par India mein abhi bhi dikh rahe hain.

Local makers toh surgical gloves ke liye IS 13422 jaise strict rules follow karte hain, jisme AQL 0.65 tak chahiye hota hai. Yeh quality control ki kami 'Make in India' aur Atmanirbhar Bharat jaise goals ke bilkul opposite hai, jinka aim local medical device manufacturing ko boost karna hai. FY 2023-24 mein toh yeh sector lagbhag $12 billion ka tha.

Yeh QCO ke approval mein deri dikhati hai ki regulations mein kuch locha hai. Jo importers imaandar nahi hain, woh is gap ka faida utha rahe hain. Market mein kharab quality ka maal bhar rahe hain, jo aksar local level pe repackage hota hai. Isse fair competition ka koi chance hi nahi bachta aur local makers jo raw materials import karne mein bhi struggle karte hain, unki pareshani badh jati hai. Bade global players jaise Top Glove ke saamne hum toh chote hain. Aur isse hospital mein infections (HAIs) ka risk bhi badh jata hai.

Industry wale zor de rahe hain ki jaldi se jaldi QCO approve ho aur implement ho. Agar yeh rules aa gaye, toh market mein galat imports rukenge, fair play hoga, aur local production badhega. Analysts ka kehna hai ki Indian medical glove market 2030 tak $0.87 billion se $1.4 billion tak pahunch sakta hai, agar rules theek ho gaye aur competition fair raha. Is sector ka future policy action par depend karta hai, jo India ko ek global glove production hub bana sakta hai aur healthcare mein self-reliance bhi badha sakta hai.
