Turkmenistan Oil & Gas Leaks: Duniya bhar mein sabse zyada Methane yahan se nikal rahi hai!
Overview

Bhai log, ek naya research aaya hai jisme pata chala hai ki Turkmenistan desh mein duniya ke sabse khatarnak oil aur gas methane leaks ho rahe hain. Yahan **25** mein se **15** sites sabse zyada potent greenhouse gases release kar rahe hain, aur isse global warming bahut tezi se badh rahi hai. Experts keh rahe hain ki isko control karna bohot zaroori hai.

Satellite data se pata chala hai, jisko Carbon Mapper aur Stop Methane Project ne milkar analyze kiya hai. Unhone aise sites pakde hain jo har ghante 3.7 se 10.5 metric tonnes tak methane nikal rahe hain. Socho, sirf 5 tonnes per hour wala leak, 1 million badi SUVs ke pollution ke barabar ya phir 500-megawatt ke coal plant jitna harmful hai!

Methane gas bohot powerful hoti hai. CO2 se zyada heat trap karti hai, khaas kar short term mein. 20 saal mein ye CO2 se 86 guna zyada heat trap karti hai. International Energy Agency (IEA) ka kehna hai ki global temperatures mein jo 30% increase hua hai, usme methane ka bada haath hai, aur ye pre-industrial levels se 2.5 guna zyada ho gayi hai.

Energy sector, khaas kar oil aur gas, isme sabse aage hai. IEA estimate karta hai ki 2024 mein hi 145 million tonnes methane nikli hai, jisme se 80 million tonnes sirf oil aur gas operations se. Achhi baat ye hai ki 70% se zyada leaks ko easily control kiya ja sakta hai.

Sirf Turkmenistan hi nahi, Iran aur Venezuela mein bhi aise bade leaks mile hain. USA ke Texas aur Pakistan ke Sindh region mein bhi ye problem hai. Earlier research mein Delhi ke ek landfill ko bhi identify kiya gaya tha jo bohot bada emitter tha – April 2022 mein 400 tonnes per hour se bhi zyada leak hua tha, jo lagbhag 68 million cars ke pollution jitna hai.

Toh bhai, in top emission sites par turant action lena climate change ko rokne ke liye bohot zaroori hai.
