Rajasthan mein strategy ka kamaal!
Oil India ne Rajasthan ke Dandewala field ke Sanu Formation mein ek naya natural gas reserve dhundh nikala hai. Ye discovery 950 meters ki relatively kam gehrai par hui hai aur din mein 25,000 standard cubic meters (SCMD) gas mil raha hai. Isse company ki 'missed opportunities' wali strategy ko ekdum sahi prove ho gaya hai, jisme woh purane onshore fields mein chhupe maukon ko explore kar rahe hain, na ki mehngi frontier exploration par focus kar rahe hain.
Gas ka potential aur context?
Is discovery se estimated 75 MMSCM gas milega, jo India ki domestic energy security ke liye ek bohot bada win hai, khaas kar jab import costs bhi badh rahi hain. Barmer-Sanchore basin jo nearby hai aur oil ke liye famous hai, usse alag Jaisalmer basin, jahan Dandewala field hai, ab gas potential ke liye jaana ja raha hai. Ye dikhata hai ki kaise technical expertise se purane fields ko phir se zinda kiya ja sakta hai.
Financial aur Sectoral Factors?
Market aksar bade deepwater projects ko pasand karta hai, lekin Dandewala ki ye success India ke existing basins mein efficiency dikhati hai. Oil India ka stock 12.4x ke price-to-earnings ratio par trade kar raha hai, jo uske 10-year median se thoda upar hai, lekin domestic production growth par focus hone ki wajah se ye justified hai. Company ka return on equity aur capital employed bhi ONGC jaise competitors se behtar hai, jo disciplined management dikhata hai.
Lekin exploration sector mein risks toh hote hi hain, jaise blowouts aur environmental issues. Oil India ka domestic production par depend karna sarkari pricing aur royalty policies ko bhi affect karta hai. Financials solid hain, par debt-to-equity ratio industry average se zyada hai, jo capital flexibility ko kam kar sakta hai. Aur 2026 ke liye consensus estimates mein downward revisions se lagta hai ki market expectations zyada hi optimistic hain.
Aage kya?
Dandewala discovery ke baad aur drilling hogi taaki zyada se zyada resource nikala ja sake. Oil India fiscal year 2027 ke liye exploration capital expenditure badha raha hai, jiska aim production boost karna aur national energy self-sufficiency ko support karna hai. Indian onshore basins ke geological aur regulatory challenges ko navigate karna hi in successes ka poora fayda uthane ki kunji hogi.
