Coal se Nuclear tak ka Safar!

India apni energy needs ko satisfy karne ke liye ek bada step le raha hai. Jo coal power plants band ho gaye hain, unki jagah par ab nuclear reactors lagane ki planning hai. Is ambition ko pura karne ke liye December 2025 mein SHANTI Act laya gaya hai, jisne private companies ke liye bhi darwaza khol diya hai. Isse pehle toh bas government hi nuclear energy bana sakti thi.

Is Act ne insurance aur liability laws ko bhi update kiya hai, jo bahut zaroori tha kyunki nuclear projects mein heavy investment chahiye hoti hai. Market mein bhi iska impact dikh raha hai, BSE Power Index ₹7,968.40 ke aas paas chal raha hai, P/E ratio 37.28 ke saath.

Site Rules aur Chhote Reactors ka Kamaal

Sabse badi challenge hai ki nuclear reactors ke aas paas 1 kilometer ka exclusion zone zaroori hota hai, jahan koi rehta ya kaam nahi kar sakta. Lekin ab AERB (Atomic Energy Regulatory Board) ne isko kam karke 700 meters (bade reactors ke liye) aur 500 meters (chhote reactors ke liye) karne ki approval de di hai. Isse existing sites par hi zyada capacity lagai ja sakti hai.

Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) bhi game changer sabit ho sakte hain. Ye factories mein ban jayenge aur inko banane ka kharcha bhi kam hoga. India ka aim hai SMRs ko global rates se 30% tak sasta banana, yani sirf ₹30 crore per megawatt, jabki bahar ₹50-100 crore lagte hain. Ye data centers aur industries ko reliable power dene mein kaam aayenge.

Kya Hai Challenges?

Saari planning acchi hai, par kuch roadblocks bhi hain. Exclusion zone ko formal karna aur SMRs ke liye bade orders milna zaroori hai, warna cost savings nahi ho payenge. India mein uranium ka production bhi kam hai, so import par depend karna padega. Plus, India ke nuclear projects mein pehle bhi delays aur cost overruns hue hain, toh 100 GW ka target time par pura karna ek bada challenge hoga.

India ka target hai 2032 tak 22 GW aur 2047 tak 100 GW nuclear power achieve karna. Policy changes ko practical projects mein badalna aur investors ke liye risks kam karna hi sabse important hoga.
