India currently apne saal ke 60% Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) ka import karta hai, jo ki 34 million tonnes tak pahunch jata hai. Ispe reliance aur bhi khatarnak hai kyunki 90% LPG ka shipment Gulf region se aata hai, jahan hamesha koi na koi disturbance chalti rehti hai.
Africa Se Seekh Rahe Hain!
Ab Indian Sugar & Bio-Energy Manufacturers Association (ISMA) ek mast idea lekar aayi hai. Woh African countries jaise Tanzania, Ethiopia, aur Kenya mein chal rahe successful ethanol cooking programs ko copy karna chahte hain. Wahan par Tanzania ne 110,000 stoves launch karne ka plan banaya hai, aur Ethiopia mein 200,000 households ko target kiya ja raha hai. West Africa mein bhi Mali aur Nigeria jaise deshon mein lakhon ethanol aur solar stoves use ho rahe hain.
Ethanol Banega Naya 'Clean' Fuel?
ISMA ka kehna hai ki ethanol ekdum LPG jaisa clean blue flame deta hai aur iska heat output bhi same 1.5 se 3 kW tak hota hai. Agar hum 2050 tak LPG ki jagah ethanol aur biogas ka use shuru kar de, toh $24 billion se zyada ki subsidy bach sakti hai. Sirf 20% LPG demand ko ethanol se replace karne par saalana 6 million tonnes LPG ki consumption kam ho jayegi.
Government Se Kya Maang Rahe Hain?
ISMA chahti hai ki government rural aur kam income wale families ke liye ethanol cooking ko promote kare. Ye unke liye affordable aur pay-as-you-go option ban sakta hai. Street vendors, community kitchens, remote areas, aur disaster relief mein bhi iska use ho sakta hai. Association ne government se ye bhi kaha hai ki ethanol ko national energy plans mein clean cooking fuel ka darja de aur is system ko build karne ke liye incentives bhi de.
