Aage Petrol aur Diesel ke Prices Badh Sakte Hain?
Experts bol rahe hain ki government controlled oil marketing companies (OMCs) petrol aur diesel ke rates phir se badha sakti hain. Yeh isliye taaki jo losses unhe bahut zyada crude oil prices ki wajah se ho rahe hain, woh recover ho sakein. India ki OMCs ne haal hi mein ₹4 per liter tak fuel prices badhaye the, jisse do-and-a-half mahine se jo woh loss bear kar rahe the, usme thoda relief mila. West Asia mein chal rahe conflict ne situation aur kharab kar di thi.
Inflation Control vs Retailer Support: Govt Ka Dilemma
Fuel prices deregulated hain, lekin government jo ki OMCs mein majority shareholder hai, pricing decisions ko influence karti hai. Grant Thornton Bharat ke partner (oil & gas) Saurav Mitra ne kaha ki gradual price increases ki gunjaish toh hai, par isse pehle economic factors ko consider karna hoga. Unhone government ke is challenge ko highlight kiya ki kaise consumers par inflation ka impact aur OMCs par financial strain dono ko balance karna hai.
Recent price adjustments se retail inflation mein around 20 basis points ka izafa ho sakta hai, jo consumers ke budget par asar dalega. India ka Consumer Price Index (CPI) April mein thoda badh kar 3.48% ho gaya, jo Reserve Bank of India ke 4% target se neeche hai. Lekin, wholesale inflation (WPI) April mein tezi se 8.3% tak pahunch gaya, jo last 42 months ka highest hai, primarily fuel aur energy costs mein heavy increase ke karan.
OMCs Par Lagtaar Cost Pressure
Recent ₹4/liter hike se OMCs ko sirf thoda sa hi relief milega. Report kiye gaye losses jo ki petrol par ₹13-15 per liter aur diesel par ₹17-19 per liter hain, yeh adjustments Brent crude prices aur weak rupee ke karan aaye financial stress ko fully cover karne ke liye kaafi nahi hain. Jab crude oil $100 per barrel se upar hai aur Indian Rupee depreciate ho raha hai, toh imports ka cost badhta ja raha hai, jisse OMCs par cost pressure badh raha hai. Sirf currency depreciation se kisi bhi price revision se hone wale gains erase ho sakte hain. Oil ministry ki joint secretary Sujata Sharma ne bataya ki OMCs roz lagbhag ₹750 crore ka loss kar rahi hain, aur government ke paas filhaal koi financial support dene ka plan nahi hai.
