Government ne ekdum clear kar diya hai ki petrol aur diesel ke prices mein koi change nahi hoga. Iska matlab hai ki public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs) ko daily zabardast nuksan ho raha hai. Reports keh rahi hain ki petrol par ₹20 per litre aur diesel par ₹100 per litre ka nuksan ho raha hai. Sirf 27 March 2026 tak, OMCs ko ek din mein lagbhag ₹2,400 crore ka nuksan ho raha hai. Yeh sab global crude oil market mein chal rahe bhaari gadbad aur import bill badhne ki wajah se ho raha hai. Indian crude basket ka average price FY26 mein $70 per barrel tha, jo ab April 2026 mein $113 per barrel ke paar chala gaya hai.

Import Ka Kharcha Bhi Badha

Zyada crude oil import na karne ke bawajood, India ka daily import bill $190-210 million badh gaya hai. Petroleum Ministry ke ek senior officer ne kaha hai ki state assembly elections ke baad price badhane ka koi proposal nahi hai. Government chahti hai ki consumers ke liye prices stable rahein. Isliye, global prices mein utaar-chadhav hone ke baad bhi, retail prices 6 April 2022 se badhi nahi hain. Yaad rakho, India apne crude oil ka 88% se zyada import karta hai, isliye international prices badhne ka seedha asar padta hai, aur upar se rupee kamzor hone se current account deficit bhi badh sakta hai. Crude oil price mein har $1 ka badhav saalana import bill mein lagbhag ₹16,000 crore jod deta hai, jo FY25 mein $137 billion tha.

Government Ki Help

International crude prices ko control karne ke liye, sarkaar ne pehle petrol par excise duty ₹10 per litre kam kar di thi aur diesel par excise duty khatam kar di thi (pehle ₹10 thi). Diesel aur jet fuel exports par windfall tax bhi lagaya gaya hai taaki refiners desh mein supply ko priority dein. Officials ne yeh bhi bataya ki international LPG rates aur domestic prices mein bada difference hai. July 2023 se April 2026 tak international rates 102% badhe, jabki domestic LPG prices 17% kam ho gaye. Yeh sab government ke efforts hain taaki consumers ko price shock se bachaya ja sake.
