India ki compensatory afforestation policy par sawal uth rahe hain. Agar rules sakht hue, toh infra aur mining companies ke liye projects clear karwana mehnga aur lamba process ho sakta hai.
Policy mein kya gadbad hai?
Abhi tak ka rule simple hai: agar koi company forest land use karti hai, toh use badle mein kahin aur plantation fund karna padta hai. Isse CAMPA funds handle karte hain. Lekin problem ye hai ki aksar ye plantations natural jungle jaisa ecosystem nahi bana paate, jisse environment ko nuksan ho raha hai.
Investors ke liye kyun zaroori hai?
Market ab sirf कागजी (paper) compliance nahi dekh raha. Infrastructure, Mining, aur Real Estate sector ki companies jo forest land par depend karti hain, unpar ab ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) norms ka pressure badh raha hai. Agar sarkar ne rules tight kiye aur 'science-led' restoration ka rule aaya, toh projects ke approval mein delayed timelines aur higher operational costs ki poori sambhavna hai.
BRSR aur ESG ka connection
Mandatory BRSR (Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting) framework ke chalte, investors ab companies ke environmental footprint ko closely track kar rahe hain. Agar koi company sirf saplings lagane ka dikhawa karti hai, toh future mein unhe reputational risk ke sath-sath financial hit bhi jhelna pad sakta hai.
Aage kya?
Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change ki agle updates par sabki nazar hai. Future clearances mein native habitat restoration par focus hone ki wajah se industry ke liye challenge badhega. Jo companies in risks ko proactively manage karengi, wahi long-term mein winners rahengi.
