Unilever ka strategic exit, Magnum ka India mein entry!

Yeh deal basically Unilever ke liye ek strategic move hai jahan woh apne business ko streamline kar rahe hain. Ab yeh India waala ice cream business Magnum Ice Cream Netherlands B.V. ke control mein aa gaya hai. Deal June 2025 mein finalize hui hai, jiske baad Magnum ab officially Kwality Wall's India ka promoter ban gaya hai aur Unilever public shareholder ban jayega.

Board mein bhi hui changes!

Is deal ke saath hi Kwality Wall's India ke board mein bhi changes hue hain. Abhijit Bhattacharya ko naya Chairperson aur Additional Director banaya gaya hai. Tahir Toloy Tanridagli bhi as an Additional Director join kar rahe hain, jabki Ritesh Tiwari ne Additional Director ke post se resignation de diya hai, jo March 30, 2026 se effective hai.

Market mein competition aur challenges

Kwality Wall's India ka brand India mein kaafi popular hai, aur ice cream market bhi badh rahi hai. Lekin yahan competition bahot tight hai. Amul jaise bade players jo apne vast distribution network aur low prices ke liye jaane jaate hain, woh ek badi challenge hain. Havmor (jo Lotte ke paas hai) aur Vadilal bhi market mein hain.

Magnum ke liye challenges mein yeh cut-throat competition, volatile raw material prices jaise dairy aur sugar ka fluctuate hona, aur Kwality Wall's brand ko nayi generation ke hisaab se adapt karna shamil hai. Lekin premium ice cream segment mein growth kaafi achha potential dikha raha hai, aur India ki badhti middle class yahan achha scope de rahi hai.
