Scotch Whisky Association ki India se demand: Import rules ko karo relax!

Scotch Whisky Association ne Indian regulators se kaha hai ki imported spirits ki mandatory testing band ki jaye taaki supply chain smooth ho sake.

Testing ki tension se aazaadi?

Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) ne FSSAI ko zor daala hai ki imported spirits ke liye jo mandatory testing hoti hai, use hataya jaye. SWA ka kehna hai ki Scotch whisky pehle hi international quality standards meet karti hai, toh baar-baar sampling ki zaroorat nahi honi chahiye. Yaad rahe, UK-India trade deal ke baad import duties 150% se ghatkar 75% ho gayi hain, lekin testing ab bhi ek bada rukawat bani hui hai.

Kya badlega supply chain mein?

Agar ye rule hat jata hai, toh administrative kaam kam hoga aur operational costs bhi 10-15% tak kam ho sakte hain. SWA ka ye bhi point hai ki India se jo spirits UK export hoti hain, un par wahan aisi koi strict testing nahi hoti, toh yahan bhi waisa hi hona chahiye.

Tax aur investigation ka chakkar

Duty kam hone ke bawajood, global players ke liye raasta aasaan nahi hai. Diageo aur Pernod Ricard jaisi companies par Indian tax authorities ki nazar hai. Allegations hain ki bulk Scotch concentrate ko lekar tax duty bachayi gayi thi. Iske alawa, state-level par alag-alag excise duties aur complex regulations ki wajah se companies ko supply chain manage karne mein abhi bhi paseene chhoot rahe hain. Investors ke liye ab ye dekhna zaroori hai ki regulator is maang par kya faisla lete hain.
