Govt ne socha tha ki edible oil ki standard pack sizes ke rules hatane se manufacturers aur consumers dono ko fayda hoga, par bhai, hua bilkul ulta! January 2023 se jab se ye restrictions hati hain, market mein alag-alag tarah ke non-standard pack sizes aa gaye hain. Alag-alag surveys mein 350g, 375g, 400g, 440g, 750g, aur 800g jaise quantities dikh rahi hain, matlab koi bhi manufacturer apni marzi se kuch bhi daal raha hai.

Sabse badi problem ye hai ki dikhne mein ek jaise lagne wale pouches mein alag-alag quantity nikal rahi hai. Consumer ko lagta hai ki chota pack sasta hai, par asal mein usmein per litre rate bahut zyada pad raha hai. Aur to aur, agar volume ml mein likha ho aur temperature na bataye toh oil expand hone ke karan comparison karna aur bhi mushkil ho jata hai. Isse jo manufacturers standard pack size rakh rahe hain, woh competitors se peeche reh ja rahe hain jo confuse karne wale sizes use kar rahe hain sirf price kam dikhane ke liye. Ab toh honest companies ko bhi ye sab karna pad raha hai!

Log soch rahe hain ki unit sale price (price per gram ya ml) likha hota hai, toh problem kya hai? SOPA ka kehna hai ki aam log shopping karte waqt itna calculation nahi karte. Unit price bhi aksar paise mein aur chhote font mein hota hai, jise majority padhti ya samajhti nahi hai. Shopping ki jaldi mein log sirf dikhne wale price aur pack ko dekh kar decide karte hain, jisse unit price ka koi fayda nahi ho raha.
