India ke Copper Market mein Bada Hungama!
Bade players jaise Adani Enterprises, Vedanta Resources, aur Hindalco Industries ne ek zabardast stand liya hai. Woh scrap se bane copper wire ko official government quality standards mein add karne ke against hain. Inki sabse badi chinta hai inconsistent purity se hone wala safety risk, jisse overheating aur aag lagne ka khatra hai. Yeh pura mamla bade primary producers aur chhote scrap refiners ke beech ek conflict dikha raha hai.
Technical Standards aur Aag ka Risk
Asal mein baat ho rahi hai fire-refined high conductivity (FRHC) copper rod ki, jo transformers aur power cables jaise electrical infrastructure ke liye bahut important hai. Bade producers ka kehna hai ki secondary refiners, jo mainly scrap process karte hain, unke paas woh advanced technology nahi hai jo 99.99% purity consistently de sake, jo electrical applications ke liye zaroori hai. Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) ki meeting mein bhi yeh note kiya gaya tha ki "Indian fire (secondary) refiners shayad zaroori technology nahi rakhte aur isliye FRHC grade consistently nahi bana sakte."
Industry Association ka Zor ka Opposition
Indian Primary Copper Association (IPCPA), jisme Adani, Vedanta, Hindalco, aur Hindustan Copper bhi hain, is change ke sakht khilaaf hain. IPCPA ke chairman aur Hindalco ke copper business ke CEO, Rohit Pathak ne kaha hai ki scrap copper ko refine karne se electrical applications ke liye zaroori high purity reliably nahi mil sakti, aur low-quality rods se aag lagne ka risk badh jayega. IPCPA ka estimate hai ki is disagreement ke karan lagbhag 400,000 tons copper wire rod abhi formal quality controls ke bahar hain.
Market Demand aur Import ka Scene
India mein copper rods ki annual demand fiscal year 2025 tak 1.2 million metric tons tak pahunchne ki umeed hai. Domestic FRHC copper rod production lagbhag 0.4 million tons hai, jisse India ek bada importer ban jata hai, khaas kar UAE se. Middle East se recent import disruptions ne domestic supply-demand situation ko aur complex bana diya hai, jis se quality standards aur local production capabilities ko lekar debate aur tez ho gayi hai.
Competitve Position aur Market Share
Vedanta Limited, jo is dispute ka ek central figure hai, Tamil Nadu ke Tuticorin mein ek bada copper smelter operate karta hai, jo use primary copper ka ek key domestic producer banata hai. Adani Enterprises ke bhi metals aur mining sector mein interests hain, jabki Hindalco Industries, jo Aditya Birla Group ka hissa hai, aluminium aur copper ka ek jaana-maana producer hai. Scrap-based rods ko higher quality standards se bahar rakhne se yeh primary producers apni market share ko potentially cheaper alternatives se bacha sakte hain.
Regulatory Faisle aur Industry ka Future
Bureau of Indian Standards ke paas in specifications ko set karne ki kaafi power hai, aur industry unke decisions ko closely monitor kar rahi hai. Scrap-based copper rods ko official standards mein include karne ka outcome market access, pricing, aur India ke copper sector ki overall competitiveness par substantial effects dalega. Yeh desh mein refining technology aur scrap processing mein future investments ko bhi influence kar sakta hai.
