Automakers ka body SIAM ab government se BS7 norms ki deadline ko 2030 se badhakar 2032-2035 karne ki demand kar raha hai. Iska seedha asar companies ke future Capex aur car prices par pad sakta hai.
Kyun chahiye ye extension?
Indian auto industry ab officially government se appeal karne ki taiyari mein hai ki BS7 emission norms ko implement karne mein thoda extra time diya jaye. Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) chahti hai ki deadline ko 2030 se shift karke 2032 aur 2035 ke beech do phases mein rollout kiya jaye.
Tech hurdles aur complexity
BS7 sirf ek normal engine upgrade nahi hai. Ismein petrol engines ke liye 'gasoline particulate filters' ki zaroorat hogi, jiske liye supply chain abhi fully ready nahi hai. Sabse bada twist ye hai ki naye norms mein brake aur tyre wear se hone wali 'non-exhaust emissions' ko bhi monitor kiya jayega—aur iske liye testing infrastructure filhal desh mein ready nahi hai. Saath hi, naye cybersecurity aur anti-tampering rules ko implement karna bhi ek challenge hai.
Investors ke liye kya hai risk?
Auto companies ke liye ye phase critical hai kyunki strict norms ka matlab hai heavy R&D aur factory lines ka overhaul. Agar deadline 2030 par hi bani rahi, toh companies ko apna capital spending front-load karna padega. Iska sidha asar unke Profit Margins par pad sakta hai agar wo ye extra cost customers par pass-on nahi kar paaye.
Ab sabki nazrein Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) par tiki hain. Jo bhi final decision aayega, wahi decide karega ki auto stocks ka long-term spending cycle kaisa rahega. Keep an eye on government notifications!
