Ye jo E85/E100 wala idea hai na, iske peeche sabse bada reason hai apne 20-21 billion litre ka ethanol production, jo ki current E20 target ke liye required 11-12 billion litre se bohot zyada hai. Matlab, plants full capacity par chal hi nahi rahe, sirf 25-30% capacity use ho rahi hai. Isse farmers aur businesses dono pareshan hain. Government chahti hai ki ye extra ethanol use ho, bahar se mehnga oil import kam ho, aur kheti sector ko bhi faayda mile. Brazil Ka Example Aur E20 Se Seekh

Brazil ne flex-fuel vehicles (FFVs) ka scene set kar rakha hai, wahan cars ethanol ya petrol dono par chalti hain. Par India ka scene alag hai. Humari majority cars petrol ke liye bani hain. Jab E20 launch hua tha, tab bhi logo ne complain kiya tha ki mileage kam ho raha hai aur repair ka kharcha badh sakta hai, especially purani gaadiyon mein. Logon ko pump par choice nahi mili aur koi cost benefit bhi dikha nahi. Ye sab issues E85/E100 ke liye aur bhi critical ho jayenge.

Economy Aur Farmers Ko Support

Ethanol ka zyada use apne liye bohot important hai kyunki hum FY2024-25 mein around ₹14 Lakh Crore ($167 billion) ka crude oil import karte hain. Ethanol jo ganna aur makka jaise crops se banta hai, woh farmers ko steady income deta hai. Ye sector ab tak ₹50,000 Crore ka business ban chuka hai. Isliye FFVs banane padenge, jismein engine design aur materials change karne honge. E20 ready karne mein ₹4,000-₹6,000 ka kharcha aata hai, par E85/E100 ke liye FFV banwane mein yeh ₹19,000 se ₹27,000 tak zyada lag sakte hain. Aur haan, ethanol mein energy kam hoti hai, toh E100 mein mileage 27-30% tak kam ho sakta hai. Thand mein E100 start karne mein bhi dikkat aa sakti hai, especially North India mein.

Fir aata hai petrol pumps ka scene. Higher blends ke liye special storage, transport aur pumps chahiye. Indian Oil, BPCL, HPCL jaise bade players ismein invest karna shuru kar rahe hain. Experts bol rahe hain ki cars, fuel availability aur supply chains sab ko align karne mein 2035 tak ka time lag sakta hai.

Ethanol Surplus Ka Game

Wahi ethanol surplus ka issue toh hai hi. Production capacity demand se bohot upar hai, isliye plants underutilised hain. Jab tak long-term demand growth nahi dikhegi, tab tak naye distilleries mein investment ka future uncertain hai.

Aage kya? E85 aur E100 ke liye rules pehle testing par focus karenge. Gaadiyon ka performance, emissions, sabka data collect hoga. Iske baad hi bada rollout hoga.
