Renault aur Geely ka joint venture Horse Powertrain India mein apna naya legal entity bana raha hai. Company ko ummeed hai ki iska process Q3 2026 tak poora ho jayega. Yeh move India ko ek bade global automotive hub ke taur par dikhata hai. Unka focus hybrid aur high-efficiency ICE engines par hai, kyuki abhi bhi duniya bhar mein inki kaafi demand hai, sirf battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) ke alawa. CEO Matias Giannini ka kehna hai ki India unke liye sirf bikri ka market nahi, future development aur Europe jaise regions mein export karne ka bhi potential hub ban sakta hai. India ka cost-competitive manufacturing aur skilled talent pool iske liye perfect hai.

Is deal ko aur mazboot banata hai Indian government ka naya GST rule. September 2025 se, chhote cars ( 4 meters se kam lambi, petrol engine 1.2 litres ya diesel 1.5 litres tak) par GST kam hokar 28% se 18% ho gaya hai. Isse aise efficient engines wale cars ki demand badhegi jinko Horse Powertrain support karta hai. Aur toh aur, India ki PLI schemes bhi domestic manufacturing ko badhava de rahi hai.

Dekho, bade players jaise Bosch, Denso, aur Magna International toh EV components mein bhaari investment kar rahe hain. Lekin Horse Powertrain ka strategy alag hai. Woh hybrid solutions pe focus kar rahe hain, jo electrification ki taraf badhte huye ek practical bridge provide karta hai. Unka 'Future Hybrid Concept' aur 'HORSE C15' jaise products BEV platforms ke saath integrate ho sakte hain, jisse range badhti hai aur flexibility milti hai, jo India jaise deshon ke liye bohot zaruri hai jahan charging infrastructure abhi develop ho raha hai. 2024 mein bani yeh company worldwide 18 plants aur 5 R&D centers ke saath kaam karti hai, aur Renault, Geely, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan jaise bade automakers ko serve karti hai.

Toh iska asli matlab kya hai? Horse Powertrain ICE ko chhod nahi raha, balki use transition ke liye optimize kar raha hai. Unka multi-fuel approach, jisme e-fuels aur hydrogen bhi shaamil hai, yeh dikhata hai ki decarbonization ka koi ek hi raasta nahi hai. Studies bhi bata rahi hain ki 2040 tak bhi aadhi se zyada gaadiyan combustion ya hybrid hongi. India, jo 2026 tak teesra bada automotive market banne wala hai, wahan unki yeh multi-technology strategy kaam aa sakti hai. India mein local production se woh cost-engineering ka fayda utha sakte hain aur domestic demand ke saath export ko bhi cater kar sakte hain.

Abhi sab kuch acha lag raha hai, par risks bhi hain. Duniya mein EV ka trend tezi se badh raha hai, aur govt bhi usi taraf ja rahi hai. Competitors bhi EV components ki localization mein lage hain. Horse Powertrain ko apne hybrid aur ICE solutions ko naye emission norms (jaise BS VII) aur customers ki expectations par khara utarna hoga. Aur GST structure future mein badal sakta hai. Unka projected revenue €15 billion hai, jo kaafi bada hai, par India mein long-term success unki rapid tech changes aur fierce competition ko handle karne ki ability par depend karega.
