Pichhle kuch saalon se Indian market mein competition aur local preferences ko samajhne mein thodi dikkat aa rahi thi, jiske wajah se market share bhi kam ho raha tha. Ab company ne socha hai ki global models ke bajaye, India ke liye hi specific cars banayenge.
Iska main focus hai 2028 se India ke liye tayyar ki hui models launch karna. Yeh gaadiyan do main categories mein hongi: 4 meter se choti aur mid-size segments. Yeh sab Indian customers ki zarooraton, yahan ke mausam aur use ko dhyan mein rakh kar banayi jayegi.
Aur ek badi khabar ye hai ki Honda apni popular two-wheeler business ka fayda uthane wala hai. Woh India mein apni bikes banane ki capacity ko 6.25 million units se badha kar 8 million units tak le jaane ka plan kar rahe hain, by 2028. Isse woh bike owners ko car mein upgrade karne ke liye encourage karna chahte hain. Current mein unka two-wheeler mein 28% market share hai.
Iske alawa, sales aur customer engagement badhane ke liye, Honda ne Honda Digital Innovation India (HDII) setup kiya hai aur March 2027 se pehle ek captive finance company bhi launch karne wale hain.
Yeh sab isliye bhi zaroori hai kyunki Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai aur Tata Motors jaise competitors ₹88,000 crore se zyada invest kar rahe hain. Maruti 2030 tak 40 lakh units ki capacity chahta hai, aur Hyundai 2027 tak electric SUV ke saath 26 naye models lane ka plan kar raha hai. Honda ke paas filhal sirf Amaze, Elevate, City jaise kuch models hain.
Analysts ka kehna hai ki Honda ko cost competitiveness mein abhi bhi struggle karna padega, aur unka current product range competitors ke comparison mein kaafi limited hai, especially SUVs mein. Global EV operations mein bhi losses hain. Lekin India, North America aur Japan ke saath, Honda ke liye ek priority growth market hai.
