गुजरात के ढोलेरा (Dholera) में भारत का पहला सेमीकंडक्टर फैब्रिकेशन प्लांट लगने जा रहा है। सरकार ने इसके लिए Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing Pvt Ltd को विशेष आर्थिक क्षेत्र (SEZ) के तौर पर मंजूरी दे दी है, जिसके तहत कंपनी **₹91,000 करोड़** का भारी-भरकम निवेश करेगी।

यह कदम भारत को सेमीकंडक्टर के क्षेत्र में आत्मनिर्भर बनाने की दिशा में एक बड़ा कदम है। सरकार का लक्ष्य आयात पर निर्भरता कम करना और ग्लोबल सप्लाई चेन में अपनी जगह मजबूत करना है। कॉमर्स सेक्रेटरी की अध्यक्षता वाली 'बोर्ड ऑफ अप्रूवल' ने इस प्रोजेक्ट को हरी झंडी दे दी है।

इस इंडस्ट्री को बढ़ावा देने के लिए सरकार ने सेमीकंडक्टर और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स SEZs के लिए न्यूनतम ज़मीन की जरूरत को 50 हेक्टेयर से घटाकर 10 हेक्टेयर कर दिया है। इस पॉलिसी बदलाव के बाद अब तक पांच नए SEZs नोटिफाई किए जा चुके हैं। इस सेक्टर में CG Semi, Kaynes Semicon और Micron Semiconductor Technology India जैसी कंपनियां भी काम कर रही हैं।
