સરકારી કંપની NLC इंडिया લિમિટેડ (NLCIL) એ વધારાની 106 મેગાવોટ (MW) સૌર ઊર્જા ક્ષમતા સફળતાપૂર્વક કમિશન કરી છે. આ વિસ્તરણ રાજસ્થાનના બિકાનેર જિલ્લામાં સ્થિત 300 MW બારસિંગસર સોલાર પાવર પ્રોજેક્ટનો એક ભાગ છે. આ નવા ઉમેરા સાથે, બારસિંગસર પ્રોજેક્ટની કુલ કમિશન થયેલી ક્ષમતા હવે 158.83 MW થઈ ગઈ છે, જેમાં અગાઉ 52.83 MW કમિશન કરવામાં આવી હતી. રાજસ્થાન રિન્યુએબલ એનર્જી કોર્પોરેશન (RRECL) એ કમિશનિંગ પ્રમાણપત્ર મંજૂર કર્યું છે.
પ્રોજેક્ટમાં સ્વદેશી રીતે ઉત્પાદિત, ઉચ્ચ-કાર્યક્ષમતાવાળા બાયફેશિયલ સોલાર PV મોડ્યુલ્સનો ઉપયોગ કરવામાં આવ્યો છે, જે આત્મનિર્ભર ભારત પહેલને સમર્થન આપે છે અને સ્થાનિક ઉત્પાદનને પ્રોત્સાહન આપે છે. ઉત્પન્ન થતી તમામ સૌર ઊર્જા રાજસ્થાન રાજ્યને સપ્લાય કરવામાં આવશે, જે તેના રિન્યુએબલ એનર્જી મિશ્રણમાં યોગદાન આપશે. NLCIL ડિસેમ્બર 2025 સુધીમાં સંપૂર્ણ 300 MW ક્ષમતા હાંસલ કરવાની યોજના ધરાવે છે.
