Record Mileage Fueled by Demand
Uber India announced a banner year for 2025, with its network of rides covering a staggering 11.6 billion kilometers. This represents a robust 26.5% increase in total distance traveled compared to the previous year, signaling strong demand and expanded operations across the country.
Greener Journeys Gain Traction
The shift towards sustainable mobility was evident, as users traveled 365 million kilometers exclusively in Uber electric vehicles (EVs). This surge in EV usage, accounting for 54 million hours spent in electric cars, reinforces a clear consumer preference for eco-friendly transportation options now available through the platform.
Service Diversification Drives Engagement
Beyond core ride-hailing, Uber's other services also saw significant adoption. Uber Black, the premium offering, facilitated over 34 million kilometers of travel, primarily for airport and work commutes. Uber Courier experienced around 3 million new users, with one individual completing an exceptional 5,218 deliveries. Uber Shuttle also registered nearly 800,000 first-time users for app-based bus services.
Key Cities Lead the Charge
Cities like Kochi led in customer satisfaction, boasting an average rider rating of 4.91 out of 5. Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Pune emerged as the top five urban centers with the highest number of Uber rides. Meanwhile, cities such as Bhubaneswar and Thiruvananthapuram recorded the fastest average driving speeds.
