Skyways Air Services IPO Opens August 24 At ₹131-138 Band

Skyways Air Services is set to launch its ₹582.8 crore initial public offering on August 24, 2026, with shares priced between ₹131 and ₹138. The logistics firm will use the fresh capital primarily to reduce debt and fund working capital. Investors may evaluate the risks tied to thin profit margins, high revenue concentration in air freight, and ongoing legal proceedings.

Skyways Air Services Ltd is preparing to hit the primary market with its initial public offering (IPO) starting August 24, 2026. The company has set a price band of ₹131 to ₹138 per share for the offering, which aims to raise a total of ₹582.8 crore. The subscription window for public investors will remain open until August 27, while anchor investors will have the opportunity to bid on August 21. The equity shares are expected to be listed on the BSE and NSE on September 1, 2026.

Capital Usage and Debt Reduction

The total issue consists of a fresh equity share sale of ₹398.8 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of existing shares worth ₹184 crore. A significant portion of the money raised from the fresh issue is earmarked for deleveraging the balance sheet. Specifically, the company intends to use ₹216.79 crore to repay outstanding debt, which could help lower interest costs. An additional ₹130 crore will be directed toward meeting incremental working capital requirements, supporting the company's daily operations in the competitive logistics sector.

Business Model and Concentration Risks

Founded in 1984, Skyways Air Services has established a long-standing presence as a custom house agent and logistics provider. However, the company’s revenue stream is heavily dependent on its air freight forwarding segment, which accounted for approximately 97.83% of its total revenue. This high level of concentration means that any disruption in the global air cargo market or changes in air freight demand could have a disproportionate impact on the company’s top line.

Investors may also want to consider the company’s financial efficiency. The business operates with thin profit margins, with recent data indicating a profit-after-tax (PAT) margin of around 2.24%. Furthermore, the logistics sector is capital-intensive and subject to intense competition, which often keeps margins tight.

Legal and Operational Factors

Beyond financial and market risks, potential shareholders should note the existence of legal challenges. The company has disclosed risks regarding ongoing criminal proceedings and faces significant contingent liabilities, which could impact its financial position depending on the outcomes of these legal matters.

For those tracking the IPO, the key monitorables will be the subscription interest from institutional investors during the anchor round, the company's ability to maintain its air freight volume growth, and how effectively it utilizes the IPO proceeds to strengthen its financial position and improve profit margins in the coming quarters.
