Sical Logistics Lands ₹4,038 Crore SECL Contract
Sical Logistics Ltd announced Monday it has received a critical letter of acceptance from South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL) for a substantial project valued at ₹4,038 crore, inclusive of Goods and Services Tax. The contract marks a significant expansion of the company's order book and its involvement in the Indian mining sector.
Porda Chimtapani Project Details
The project, located at the Porda Chimtapani open cast site in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, is scheduled for execution over an extensive period of 4,214 days. Sical Logistics confirmed it will undertake the project in strict adherence to the specifications detailed within the tender document. The company noted that neither its promoter, promoter group, nor any group companies hold any interest in SECL, clarifying that the contract is not a related party transaction.
Sical's Established Logistics Footprint
Established in 1955, Sical Logistics stands as a prominent integrated logistics service provider across India. The company, acquired by Delhi-based Pristine Malwa Logistics Park Pvt Ltd in 2023, has a robust track record in various operational domains. Its major operations include ongoing mining projects for Northern Coalfields Ltd in Madhya Pradesh and Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd in Odisha.
Diversification Beyond Mining
Beyond its core mining activities, Sical Logistics also operates a cutter suction dredger, currently deployed for dredging operations at Ramayapatnam Port on India's east coast. The company previously completed a significant dredging project for an ONGC pipeline in Yanam, Puducherry, in 2022. Its business segments further extend to container freight stations, warehousing, and third-party logistics (3PL) services, showcasing a diversified operational portfolio. Shares of Sical Logistics closed at ₹87.65 on the BSE on January 12, marking a 0.94% increase for the day.
