Overview

India is rapidly clearing a backlog of long-delayed highway projects, aiming to reduce them significantly by March to curb cost overruns and accelerate national highway construction. As of Monday, 98 projects worth ₹39,300 crore remain delayed, down from 152 in April. This initiative aims to speed up clearances, land acquisition, and fund release, benefiting construction firms burdened by overheads.
