India's inaugural bullet train run will cover 100 km between Surat and Vapi in Gujarat in August 2027, a revised plan from the earlier 50 km stretch. The ambitious Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor, spanning 508 km, aims for trains to run at 320 kmph. Despite initial delays due to land acquisition, the entire corridor is now targeted for completion by the end of 2029. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed satisfaction with the project's construction pace.
