Union Minister K Rammohan Naidu has called for a significant increase in dedicated cargo freighters and cargo-centric airports in India to capitalize on the booming air cargo market. He highlighted that India has only 17 registered freighters compared to over 200 in the US, underscoring a massive growth opportunity. The minister also emphasized efforts to reduce cargo processing times and projected air cargo throughput to reach 10 million metric tonnes by 2030, creating numerous jobs.
