New Health Protocols for Airlines
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in India has established clear operating procedures for airlines connecting to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. These rules require enhanced passenger screening. Beyond just collecting health declaration forms, airlines must now stock essential medical supplies like PPE and bio-hazard disposal kits. They also need to set up separate seating areas for passengers showing symptoms. These new requirements add significant, unavoidable expenses for an industry already dealing with high jet fuel prices and flight path disruptions due to regional conflicts.
