Akasa Air Begins Rajasthan Flights; IPO Plans in Focus

Akasa Air is launching direct flights connecting Jaipur and Udaipur to major cities starting October 11 and October 15, 2026. This expansion targets high-traffic travel corridors. For investors, it is important to note that Akasa Air is a private entity and not listed on stock exchanges, though management has indicated plans for a potential public offering in the coming years.

Akasa Air is set to expand its network into Rajasthan, marking a significant step in its domestic growth strategy. Starting October 11, 2026, the airline will commence daily direct flights between Jaipur and major hubs, including Mumbai and Bengaluru. This will be followed by the launch of operations from Udaipur on October 15, 2026, to the same destinations. These routes are designed to cater to both business travelers and tourists, targeting high-volume traffic corridors.

It is important for investors to note that Akasa Air is a private company, operated by SNV Aviation Private Limited. It is not currently listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) or the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Because it is not a public company, there is no tradeable share price, and retail investors cannot buy or sell its stock on the open market.

While the company is currently private, management has publicly indicated an intent to pursue an initial public offering (IPO) within the next two to four years. The company’s path to a public listing is expected to depend on achieving specific financial milestones, including sustained profitability and positive cash flow.

In terms of financial performance, the airline has shown signs of operational growth, reporting a 37% increase in revenue for the 2025-26 fiscal year. Furthermore, the company reported that it was EBITDA-positive during the latter half of that fiscal year, from September 2025 through March 2026, which suggests an improvement in operational efficiency.

However, the aviation sector remains challenging and capital-intensive. The company continues to face pressure from volatile aviation turbine fuel prices and high operating costs, which are common hurdles across the industry. It also operates in a highly competitive environment against established domestic carriers. The long-term success of its growth strategy and the eventual feasibility of its IPO plans will depend on the airline's ability to maintain profit margins, manage rising costs, and navigate competitive pressure in the domestic market.

Investors who are interested in the company’s progress may track its operational updates, fleet expansion plans, and any official announcements regarding its financial health or future listing goals.
