Uttar Pradesh's Economic Boost
The ₹36,000 crore Ganga Expressway will redefine Uttar Pradesh's economic landscape. India's logistics costs currently stand at 13-14% of GDP, much higher than global averages. The project aims to bring these costs below 10%, which could unlock estimated annual savings of ₹25,000 to ₹30,000 crore. This efficiency boost will lower inventory costs and enable more agile, just-in-time supply chains crucial for manufacturing, e-commerce, and agro-processing.
Fuel Savings and Network Links
Transporters can expect a 30% reduction in fuel consumption. This, along with higher average speeds and faster turnaround times, will optimize the logistics network. The expressway connects key economic hubs, linking industrial clusters, agricultural areas, logistics hubs, and manufacturing centers. This will enable smoother goods movement and strengthen regional economies.
Jobs and Investment Boost
Developed as a public-private partnership overseen by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority, the project highlights strong private sector commitment. Adani Enterprises Limited is handling about 80% of the expressway's construction. Government estimates project this initiative will create nearly 3 lakh direct and indirect jobs over the next decade. It is also expected to contribute over ₹1 lakh crore to Uttar Pradesh's GDP, fostering industrial expansion and investment. The project is especially key to unlocking eastern Uttar Pradesh's economic potential, linking it better with established western industrial areas.
