The Indian government has withdrawn Quality Control Orders (QCOs) on certain textile raw materials like polyester fibre and yarn. However, Viscose Staple Fibre (VSF) and Viscose Filament Yarn (VFY), critical inputs, remain under QCOs. This selective withdrawal is expected to lower production costs for some materials, enhancing the competitiveness of the Indian textile industry, though VSF/VFY will remain relatively more expensive. Grasim Industries, a major producer of VSF/VFY, is directly impacted.
