Overview

India has withdrawn Quality Control Orders (QCOs) on several polymer and fibre intermediates, including imported yarn. This move is expected to reduce raw material costs for the readymade garment sector, providing much-needed relief from US tariff pressures. However, it will increase competition for domestic upstream polyester yarn manufacturers.
